Energy from agricultural and food by-products

Biogas from waste and organic by-products

Biogas facility next to an agricultural area

Our specialists have been developing and expanding their experience in the field of anaerobic technologies since 1996. The production and utilization of biogas is one of the core activities of Water4All, which has been further strengthened by integrating the expertise of our engineers since its foundation in 2021. Our activities cover the energy recovery and purification of waste water and organic by-products of the agricultural and food industry with high moisture content.

The basis for the production of biogas from food and agricultural organic by-products as well as waste water is provided by the INWAFERM rotting technology developed by our sister company Inwatech. This solution has been designed, built and continuously maintained in many metropolitan wastewater treatment plants. Biogas purification — removal of moisture, hydrogen sulphur and other undesirable components — is carried out with our own developed two-stage BIOGINWA equipment. Purified biogas can be used in several ways: for the production of electricity and heat with a gas engine, in which we have outstanding experience, but after further purification it is suitable for the production of biomethane and for feeding into the natural gas network, or for recovery in the form of LNG or CNG.

The basis for the success of biogas plants is the stable supply of raw materials and the proper handling of the fermentation juice produced after rotting. Its agricultural placement and utilization is in any case a key factor. By conducting conceptual and feasibility studies, our company helps to select the optimal solutions adapted to local conditions and objectives. Our fermentation juice recovery technology, which was developed with the support of the Norwegian Fund, can be used to mix and dry the fermented juice with mineral substances to produce a fertiliser which is a valuable input for agriculture.
