Alföldvíz mechanical modernization

Location:
Orosháza, Hungary
Year of construction:
2025
In 2025, we implemented an energy-saving mechanical modernization at the municipal wastewater treatment plant of Alföldvíz Zrt. in Orosháza. The investment did not involve the construction of a new facility; instead, it focused on increasing the efficiency of the existing aeration system.
Within the project, two 90 kW roots blowers were replaced with two modern 55 kW Raetts magnetic bearing blowers. This technology significantly reduced energy consumption while improving operational reliability and controllability.
Another objective of the project was the reconstruction of the aeration systems of three biological treatment units. Our scope of work included the replacement of all disc diffusers, while retaining the existing piping network.
Based on operational data, it can be concluded that the blower replacement reduced the plant’s electrical energy demand by more than 30%, contributing to lower operating costs and more sustainable wastewater treatment.
