TEVA water reuse

TEVA approached our company at its Debrecen manufacturing site with the objective of optimizing internal water use. The study had a dual purpose. One objective was the in-plant reuse and recirculation of pre-treated wastewater and other used water streams, primarily to supply the water demand of the existing cooling towers, thereby replacing groundwater abstraction and freeing up groundwater extraction capacity. The second project objective was to optimize the water consumption of the existing water softening system by replacing mains drinking water with appropriately treated well water and making it suitable for use as boiler feedwater.

The technical solutions and water and wastewater treatment technologies capable of achieving both objectives were presented and delivered in the form of a feasibility study, including a conceptual design package that also outlined alternative technical options.
