We carried out a mechanical upgrade aimed at energy savings at Alföldvíz Zrt.'s municipal wastewater treatment plant in Orosháza. Rather than building new infrastructure, the investment focused on improving the efficiency of the existing aeration system.

Our role
Replacing two outdated Roots blowers with modern magnetic-bearing Raetts turbo blowers, alongside a complete reconstruction of the aeration system.

The client
Alföldvíz Zrt.'s core business is drinking water supply and wastewater collection and treatment across Békés County, Hungary.

What we did
We replaced two 90 kW Roots blowers with two modern 55 kW Raetts magnetic-bearing blowers. The project's second goal was to reconstruct the aeration system across all three biological treatment tanks: replacing every disc diffuser while keeping the existing air distribution piping unchanged.
Outcome
Based on operating data, the blower replacement cut the plant's electricity demand by more than 30%, helping lower operating costs and supporting more sustainable wastewater treatment.
