BIOGINWA Biogas Treatment and Conditioning

The BIOGINWA unit provides purification and conditioning of the biogas produced — removing moisture, hydrogen sulphide and silicates — enabling high-efficiency energy generation. The proprietary two-stage technology unit complements the INWAFERM system, ensuring a high level of biogas purification for further energy utilisation.

Key benefits

The BIOGINWA system provides a compact, energy-efficient, and reliable solution for purifying, conditioning, and further utilising biogas for energy.

01

Reliable, long-term operation

The BIOGINWA unit effectively removes moisture, hydrogen sulphide, and silicates from raw biogas. Without filtering out these harmful components, sediment build-up and corrosion could severely damage downstream equipment, such as gas engines, over time. The two-stage purification process thus ensures reliable, low-maintenance operation over the long term.

02

Flexible installation, no building required

The BIOGINWA unit has a compact, modular design and requires no separate building or enclosed technical space. This makes it suitable for sites where installing a traditional, building-integrated purification unit would be difficult or costly. The flexible design results in shorter construction time and lower capital costs, without compromising on purification efficiency.

03

Directly usable electricity and heat

Biogas purified in the BIOGINWA unit can be used directly in gas engines to generate electricity and heat. Because removing the harmful components prevents engine damage, the equipment operates with a longer lifespan and fewer shutdowns. This mode of energy generation utilises the biogas on-site, right where it's produced, reducing transport and storage losses.

04

Grid injection or use as vehicle fuel

With further treatment, the purified biogas can be converted into biomethane, matching natural gas in quality. The resulting biomethane can be fed directly into the natural gas grid, or used as vehicle fuel in LNG or CNG form. This flexibility opens up new sales and utilisation opportunities compared with simply combusting the raw biogas.

Applications

When is it the right choice?

BIOGINWA technology is the right choice for any biogas plant where raw biogas produced by INWAFERM or another digester system is to be utilised for high-efficiency energy generation or biomethane production.
