What we do

Turning wastewater into clean water, sustainably

We design the treatment system based on the composition of the raw wastewater and the applicable discharge limits: we apply physical, chemical, biological and advanced oxidation (AOP) processes, building on our own in-house solutions for the aerobic biological stage and photo-oxidation. We always adapt our plants to local conditions, so that industrial wastewater treatment can be carried out efficiently and sustainably.

Our experts bring nearly 30 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment — from concept design through engineering and construction to maintenance.

01

Industrial wastewater treatment

Our industrial wastewater treatment plants — designed and built for the food, paper, pharmaceutical, oil, chemical and other industries — always apply combined technological solutions tailored to the specific wastewater discharge characteristics of the given plant. Our solutions serve two main purposes: pre-treatment for discharge into the public sewer network, and complex final treatment enabling discharge into surface water or another receiving body.

We provide end-to-end service: consulting, feasibility studies, permitting design, execution design, construction with performance responsibility, and service, maintenance and operation. Our in-house ContiSeq™ biological technology is suitable for treating any biologically degradable wastewater and adapts particularly well to the load fluctuations typical of industrial dischargers — also available in a compact configuration under the name ContiSeq™ Compact for smaller-capacity plants.

Treated water can — depending on the plant's needs — be reused on-site or even sold. Larger-scale, municipal wastewater treatment plants are designed and built by our sister company, Inwatech, a leading player in the domestic and international wastewater treatment market for more than 25 years.

02

Fourth-stage wastewater treatment

Since 2016 we have been developing our own AOP-based photo-oxidation technology together with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and industrial partners. The solution removes pharmaceutical residues remaining after biological treatment with high efficiency, meeting professional and regulatory expectations.

Establishing a fourth treatment stage requires a multi-step technological approach: chemical clarification and sedimentation, biological treatment, evaporation, ultrafiltration, removal of micropollutants, photo-oxidation technology for pharmaceutical residues, reverse osmosis, and complex disinfection.

Measurements taken at major domestic wastewater treatment plants confirm the presence of pharmaceutical residues — based on these results, fourth-stage treatment systems are already being built at several sites. We believe this solution will soon be not only professionally justified but also a legal requirement; our team is equipped to detect pharmaceutical residues and micropollutants at microgram or even nanogram levels, with precise sampling and sample preparation.

Consulting

Our consulting services cover the full spectrum of wastewater treatment: from concept design and technological planning, through support during permitting procedures, to operation. Our expert engineering team provides guidance on every project with the latest wastewater treatment technologies, current regulatory requirements and economic considerations in mind.

Whether it's managing load fluctuations at an existing plant or introducing a fourth treatment stage, we always develop a sustainable, cost-effective solution tailored to the specific site.

Our approach

Nearly 30 years of experience, in-house technologies

We don't think like a theoretical design office: we follow projects from the analysis of raw wastewater through commissioning and all the way to operation, so we know exactly which solutions hold up to daily operation. Alongside our own in-house biological and photo-oxidation technologies, we are also familiar with a wide range of solutions available on the market — this perspective ensures our cost-effective, reliable solutions.

This experience spans the widest range of industries — from food production to pharmaceuticals — and keeps expanding as water quality and environmental regulations grow stricter. The result: more predictable operation, lower lifetime costs, and plants that run reliably for decades.

The real test of wastewater treatment isn't meeting the discharge limit — it's predictable, cost-effective day-to-day operation. That's what we keep in mind in every project, from industrial pre-treatment to fourth-stage treatment.
