INWAFERM Digesters
INWAFERM anaerobic digester technology was developed by our sister company, building on more than a decade of biogas plant design and operation experience, with improved mixing solutions and a new reactor design. The system's goal is to increase the efficiency and operational reliability of biogas production, with optimised capital and operating costs.

Key benefits
INWAFERM technology is built on our sister company's more than a decade of biogas plant experience and continuously refined, proven solutions that deliver high-efficiency, reliable biogas production.
01
Lower energy use, stable temperature
We use internal pipe heating technology, proven in our biogas facilities since 2008, in every INWAFERM system. This solution maintains the stable, optimal temperature required for digestion while keeping energy consumption low. The mature, long-term-tested technology reduces operating costs and increases the predictability of the process.
02
Greater reliability, fewer breakdowns
We use a proprietary reactor design and improved mixing solution in every INWAFERM system. These developments significantly reduce the risk of blockages and sediment build-up compared to earlier systems. The result is a more reliable digester technology that requires less maintenance and operates stably over the long term.
03
Stable operation even with fluctuating production
The system features a flexible biogas buffering solution that evens out daily fluctuations in feedstock input and gas production. This ensures further energy utilisation — whether via gas engine or biomethane production — always receives a consistent gas supply. This buffering reduces the risk of breakdowns and increases the efficiency of the entire system.
04
Almost any organic feedstock can be used
With appropriate technological preparation, the system can ferment nearly any wet or dry organic feedstock. This includes agricultural byproducts, food industry waste, and wastewater sludge. This broad compatibility provides flexibility in feedstock sourcing and enables cost-effective operation tailored to local conditions.
Applications
When is it the right choice?
The INWAFERM system is suitable for biogas production from agricultural feedstocks, wastewater sludge, and other fermentable organic materials alike — including high-moisture agricultural and food industry byproducts.
Further purification of the biogas produced is carried out by the BIOGINWA technology unit, which removes moisture, hydrogen sulphide and silicates, ensuring high-efficiency energy utilisation.
