Our role
As main contractor, we designed, permitted and installed the activated carbon tank (adsorber).

The waterworks is operated by Soproni Vízmű Zrt.

What we did
Odour-causing compounds from algal blooms, such as geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol, were impairing drinking water quality. We reviewed the existing treatment process and determined how and where to integrate the activated carbon tank. We installed a purpose-built mobile activated carbon filter with a capacity of 100 m3/h and a usable volume of 20 m3, filled with W4A OS activated carbon.
Outcome
The adsorber removed the odour-causing compounds and, according to the tests, the manganese in the water as well.
